The Bottle & Glass is a picturesque thatched and half-timbered pub at the southern edge of the Chilterns. It dates from the 17th century and retains an original fireplace and flagstone floor in the left bar.
The photo is a little out of date as the pub is no longer owned by Brakspears Brewery, but the inn sign has been preserved and can still be seen inside. The new owners gave the pub a major refurbishment in 2017 and a large new extension at the back houses the restaurant. However drinkers are still welcome and a locals bar was created in the stone-flagged bar to the left with pews, benches and standing room.
The Dutch Barn behind the pub was converted into a cafe bar in 2020, opening at 8.30 for teas and coffees, and serving pizzas, burgers and alcohol from midday.
