Rural Gems

Rural Gems are the very few remaining no-frills country pubs, with a local clientele, focusing mainly on drinking and conversation. They may also do food but they are not dining pubs. Some may have been unchanged for decades with simple furniture and an open fireplace, and they may have beer drawn from the barrel. They often disappear when a long-standing licensee retires but thankfully many have been preserved by new owners.
