The Florist is one of half a dozen remarkable Portsmouth pubs with an eye-catching “witch’s hat” tower.  Most were designed by architect A.E. Cogswell for Brickwoods Brewery in the 1890s but the Florist was built in 1924. In the 1920s pub design was becoming plainer but here Cogswell has kept his own trademark tiled ground floor, Mock Tudor upper floor and corner tower.

The Florist a typical Portsmouth community pub with a weekly quiz and regular DJs.
