Traditional Town Pub, 2* Heritage Pub

The Britannia is a Batham’s pub in Upper Gornal halfway between Wolverhampton and Dudley. It’s notable for its unusual left hand room which has a serving area with four working hand-pumps but no bar counter. The hand-pumps are occasionally used when the pub is busy but you’ll usually need to go to the main bar for your pint. The ancient cash register next to the pumps is just for show though.

The excellent Batham’s Bitter and Mild, plus XXX in December, from the nearby brewery in Brierley Hill are on tap, and cobs and pork pies are available.
