New Inn, Salisbury

41 New Street
Salisbury
Wiltshire
SP1 2PH
01722 326662

Like most pubs with this name the New Inn is not new at all. It is a timber framed building with an overhanging first floor and dates from the fifteenth century (photos 1 & 3). It was once five separate cottages which housed cathedral workers, and only became a pub in the 1800s.

It backs onto Salisbury Cathedral and the garden overlooks the cathedral spire (photo 4), a view which is echoed in the painting on the inn sign (photo 2).

It serves good quality pub food lunchtimes and evenings, and Badger beers from the Hall & Woodhouse Brewery of Dorset.
