The Record Cafe has a unique and very classy offer: it sells beer, vinyl records and charcuterie. It opened in 2014 on North Parade which has become main street for micro pubs in Bradford.

There are four cask beers on handpull and nine craft keg beers, mostly from Yorkshire or the north of England. The ham, sausages and cheese are from Spain and a range of other snacks such as octopus, sardines and pate is on offer (photo 5). The vinyl record shop is upstairs and new releases arrive every week on “new music Friday” (photo 3).

Activities include cheese and beer pairing events and poetry and prose readings. On Bradford City matchdays there is a lunchtime sporting lecture with topics like the culture of Colombian football and the world of sporting statues. The photo shows a talk on the football teams of Prague (photo 4).

The Record Cafe has been the Bradford Camra branch Pub of the Year several times over the past few years. It’s a big favourite of mine and I nearly always pay a visit if I’m in Bradford.
