The Shave Cross Inn is a pretty thatched and flint stone pub is hidden in a maze of hilly lanes north east of Lyme Regis in Dorset. It has stone flagged floors and low beams across three rooms with open fires in winter. Outside is a magnificent garden with trees, bushes and a covered pond. The low building to the right in photo 1 is the thatched skittle alley which dates from the 19th century and, like the pub, is Grade II listed. It hosts two local skittle teams and sometimes doubles as a cinema.
The pub has a good reputation for food and beers are from a mix of national and local breweries.
