Traditional Town Pub

The Bakers Vaults is a prominent Victorian building in the market place in the centre of Stockport. It’s owned by the local Robinson’s Brewery and sells Unicorn and Dizzy Blonde, but also four or five guest beers, often including Titanic Plum Porter.

It’s managed by a small group who run some classic pubs like the Castle Hotel in Manchester and the Eagle Inn in Salford. It is one large room with an upper seating area near the entrance and the bar at the back, with a small garden at the front for warmer days.

The Market Hall is opposite, open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and Stockport Museum and the 15th century Staircase House are just along the Market Place.
