The Buck is a country hotel built in 1874 to serve the growing number of tourists visiting the Yorkshire Dales. The old low-beamed Hikers Bar with its flagstone floor still caters for muddy boots but walkers are welcome in all parts of the pub. Food is served all day from 12.00 and five real ales are served, including a couple from the nearby Hetton Brewery just over Winterburn Moor. Accommodation is in ensuite rooms, and dogs are welcome.
Photo 1 shows the Buck in spring with the village signpost surrounded by daffodils and photo 2 shows the pub from the bank of the young River Aire.
Malham is still a hugely popular destination with attractions like the spectacular Malham Cove and its limestone pavement, Malham Tarn, Janet’s Foss waterfall and Goredale Scar.
