The Bundobust bar/restaurants in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham were the creation of Bradfordians Marko Husak and Mayur Patel. Marko founded Bradford’s first craft beer bar/micropub and Mayur is from the family that created award winning Gujerati cafe Prashad. They got together to create to create something very original and groundbreaking, a bar serving craft, cask and bottled beer along with vegetarian Gujerati food.
The first restaurant was in Leeds in 2014, followed by this one on Piccadilly in central Manchester. The street level presence is just a doorway (photo 2) but it leads downstairs to a huge room with a bar at the far end (photo 1). There are two changing cask beers which on our visit were from Track and Thornbridge, and 14 keg lines, including a few from Bundobust’s own brewery (and bar) less than a mile across town.
Bundobust won the Plant Based Offering of the Year award at the Manchester Food & Dink Festival Awards 2023.
