Nottingham architect Watson Fothergill built a number of eye catching buildings across the city in a style that combined Gothic Revival with Old English Vernacular. The Castle, built in 1883, was one of his earlier buildings and has his distinctive varied roof line with its tower, prominent chimneys and gables. It is part of Mortimer House which he designed as shops and houses and which now also includes Fothergills pub a few doors away.
It’s a popular town centre pub offering food, a good range of draught and craft ale, weekly quizzes, community events and a function room for hire. Nottingham Castle is just across the road.

Hi is this building Listed ?
Hi Jaden, yes it is Grade II listed. The whole block including Fothergills further down the street (also in this guide) is part of the same listing.
