The Crown is a small attractive town pub in the centre of Buntingford and is little changed both outside and inside. Outside it is brick built and symmetrical with a Jacobean style porch and recently painted signs that somehow look quite old (photo 1).
Inside, the public bar has a lovely ceramic bar counter and an old bar back. The entrance door has a Victorian etched ‘Ale and Spirit Bar’ Window (photo 2).
It’s a drinkers pub, with a friendly monthly acoustic evening (which I’ve been to a couple of times) and a gents barber every six weeks (which I haven’t been to). There are three cask beers and fish and chips are available Friday evenings.
