The Fountain Head is at the top of the village of Branscombe and has been a cider house and then a pub for 250 years. It has a rustic interior with stone flagged floors, wood panelling and low beams. Food is the main draw here and it offers meals lunchtime and evening and also breakfast from 10.00am. The beers are from Branscombe Vale Brewery which is just a mile away. The pub is closed on Mondays.
The South West Coast Path is close by and National Cycle Route 2 runs past the pub so unsurprisingly the Fountain Head is popular with walkers and cyclists.
Branscombe is one of the longest villages in the country, stretching the length of an attractive valley and there are three National Trust properties in the village,
