The Golden Star is a friendly two bar pub in the town centre, but with residential streets close by it has the feel of a community local. There’s a Sunday night quiz, a bar billiards table (and team) and frequent live music. The characterful main bar with its long bar counter is at the front of the pub and the rear room is at the left, with it own bar counter.
There are four changing cask beers, usually including Abbot, and Rosie’s Pig cider on handpump. A small but tasty food menu is available Thursday to Sunday lunchtimes and evenings.
