Broadway is a charmingly picturesque village full of buildings made from golden Cotswold stone. The Horse and Hound is on the High Street in the heart of the village and is a welcoming pub focussing mainly on Broadway’s many visitors (photo 1). The photo shows a vintage car leaving the pub car park and attracting admiring glances.
Food is served lunchtime and evenings and all day in tourist season and there are three regular real ales. There is accommodation in five ensuite bedrooms.
The jocular inn sign shows an increasingly popular trend in pub signs with a hunting theme, with the fox getting the better of the hounds (photo 2). The sign also shows that the Horse and Hound was once owned by Flowers Brewery of Stratford on Avon, who owned many pubs in the area before becoming part of the Whitbread empire.
