The King and Queen is an imposing and distinctive red brick Edwardian building in Fitzrovia with a witch’s hat corner tower (photo 1).
In 1962 the folk club at the King and Queen was the first place Bob Dylan played outside the USA. The folk club still meets once a month in the upstairs room and other music acts play occasionally..
It’s got a reputation for a good range of real ales but the Watney sign which still hangs outside suggests that this probably wasn’t always the case (photo 2).
