Taproom
Its full name is Kirkstall Brewery Tap and Kitchen and it’s as good as its word, though maybe in ways you wouldn’t expect. The large brewery is in the left of the building and is all shiny steel modernity, but walk into the taproom on the right and you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in an old, traditional pub.
It has wood panelled walls, a wooden bar counter and even a snug with a curved wood and etched glass screen. There’s not a taproom-style long table or bench in sight, and there are dozens of old brewery and pub signs on the walls in the now familiar Kirkstall way. The beer range isn’t old fashioned though, with 7 handpumps, 12 keg taps and a can fridge selling mostly Kirkstall beers. Pizzas and snacks are on sale most of the day.
Outside there are lots of bench tables which get quite busy on a sunny day.
