Leopard, Doncaster

The Leopard has an impressive tiled exterior dating from its days as a tied house of Warwick & Richardsons, a brewery based in Newark (photos 1 & 2).  Nowadays it’s owned, unusually, by the local council, or more specifically Doncaster Culture Leisure and Tourism.

It’s a large pub with two rooms, the quieter tap room and the lounge with sports TV, pool table and even table tennis!  There are 6 real ales, from local breweries like Acorn and Stancill and from further afield like Vocation, Thornbridge and Titanic. A wide ranging food menu is available from 12 noon to 9pm and includes pub classics, pizzas and burgers plus a good selection of smaller plates.

Live music is the big draw at weekends with bands every Saturday and occasional Fridays. The pub describes itself as “Doncaster’s only real live music venue”. Monday is quiz night with a range of prizes on offer.
