The North Brewing Co Tap Room in Leeds City Centre is one of three taprooms run by North Brewing Co. The brewery was set up in 2015 by the owners of North Bar, also in Leeds, but it was sold to Kirkstall Brewery in 2024 and is now operating independently. The other taprooms are at the Springwell brewery in Meanwood and curiously, in Treviso in Italy. Confusingly, the North Tap Room in Manchester is still run by the owners of North Bar.
The Tap Room on Sovereign Square is a modern bar in a new block close to the railway station (photo 1). Inside it has the familiar tap room look with silver ceiling pipes and minimalist tall tables (photo 3). There is a bank of 24 taps, most with beers from the Springwell brewery plus a selection from other breweries. Food is by Little Bao Boy. There’s an interesting electric hoist to raise kegs to the first floor cellar (photo 2).
