Traditional Village Pub

Edale village is in a beautiful location at the foot of Kinder Scout, and the Old Nags Head marks the start of the Pennine Way which runs 250 miles to the Scottish border. Unsurprisingly the pub is a magnet for walkers, welcoming muddy boots for dining and drinking, and offering self catering accommodation in nearby cottages.

It’s a Grade II listed gritstone-built inn dating from 1577 with low beams in the public bar and other original features. Four draught beers are served including a strong house beer called Nags 1577. Traditional pub meals are served lunchtimes and evenings.
