Posada, Wolverhampton

Traditional Town Pub, 3* Heritage Pub

With its suberb tiling and leaded glass bay window the Posada is quite a sight, especially in the evening. The art nouveau splendour dates from 1900 when local architect Fred T. Beck revamped the existing building. Inside, the front bar is tiled from floor to ceiling and has a bar back with six rare snob screens.

Through the door at the end is the smoke room which has the look of a Victorian drawing room with its fireplace, mirror and elaborate curtains. Even small room at the back looks the part, though it only dates from 1983.

There are four or five cask beers with Wye Valley HPA a regular and Bath Gem a frequent visitor. Home made cobs are sold and you can order a meal from the cafe next door at lunchtime.
