Traditional Town Pub

The Scarbrough has been a solid cask beer pub for many years now with 7 ales on tap. The selection is reliable rather than exciting with favourites like Black Sheep Bitter, Kirkstall Three Swords and Titanic Plum Porter making frequent appearances. Food is available all day and there’s an extensive menu that includes a good selection of pies.

The beautiful tiled frontage celebrates Ind Coope Brewery from Burton which once owned a few pubs in Leeds. They became part of the same group that owned local brewery Tetleys who supplied the pub’s beers until it closed in 2011. Inside the pub is open plan with a long bar counter and larger seating spaces at each end.

The pub is known locally as the Scarbrough Taps, and the spelling is correct and not the same as the Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough.

The pub has suffered in recent years from the seemingly never ending work to create a new entrance for Leeds rail station, but once it finishes you’ll be able to walk across the road and take an elevator to catch your train.
