Street Head Inn, Newbiggin

Newbiggin In Bishopsdale
North Yorkshire
DL8 3TE
01969 663282

This remote inn stands high in beautiful Bishopdale on the road linking Wensleydale to Wharfedale. It is Grade II listed, dating from around 1730 and becoming an inn not long after. Inside it has oak beams, open fires and antique furniture.

The pub has a good local following and there is a real community feel with events, a quiz night, discos and pool, darts and dominoes. A traditional pub menu is served lunch and evening and there are four cask beers, including a couple from Yorkshire Dales breweries.

The pub offers en-suite accommodation and also owns the campsite and bunk barn next door. My wife and I have stayed there in our campervan a couple of times and the convenience of a meal and a few pints plus breakfast in the pub the next day can’t be beaten.
