Traditional Town Pub
Tennents is a Victorian corner pub in a sandstone tenement close to Glasgow University. I lived and worked nearby in the 1980s and this was one one of my locals, one of the early pioneers of real ale in the city.
It has had a couple of refurbs since then but it still has a fine Victorian ceiling supported by Corinthian columns. Although it’s close to the university it has always been a locals pub, used by as many Hillhead residents as students. Up to eight cask beers are sold and food is available all day. The pub TV shows Scottish and English Premiership games.
