The Fat Cat is a Norwich institution and famous among beer geeks across the UK, winning dozens of local and national awards. It serves an astonishing 32 cask beers with 12 on handpump and 20 served from the barrel.
Colin and Marje Keatley bought the run down New Inn in 1991 and transformed it into the Fat Cat, with Victorian style fittings, old stained and etched glass and a huge range of brewery mirrors plaques posters and photos. They still run the pub today and have since opened a brewery with an attached Brewery Tap, the Fat Cat and Canary across town and the Mad Cat next door.
As you might expect, nobody comes across the Fat Cat by accident and all day every day it’s full of both dedicated beer drinkers and people attracted by its fame who’ve some to see for themselves.
