Cut & Etched Glass in Pubs

Gloriously exquisite etched and cut glass windows first appeared in the pub building boom of the 1890s. These high quality panes had patterns etched with acid and many also had brilliant cutting to enhance the detail. They continued throughout the 20th century, though refurbs and tastes for plain glass took their toll. There has been a recent revival, some of it matching the quality of Victorian glass.
